The Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary is home to the oldest living trees in Michigan. It is owned and cared for by the MIchigan Nature Association.
The sancuary is about 2.5 miles south of Copper Harbor, accessible by snowshoe during the winter. Follow the signs heading toward Lake Manganese. The trails are for feet only, no vehicles of any kind. Pets must be leashed.
Enjoy a variety of tree species including maple, birch, cedar and of course the stars of the show - White pine.
