The Copper Harbor area offers endless opportunities for outdoor recreation for those who enjoy clean air, natural beauty and adventure. The region is a natural playground offering mixed woodlands, rolling mountains, pristine lakes and of course Lake Superior. There's plenty do whether you enjoy physical activity or just want to relax.

There are numerous hiking opportunities, excellent trails for mountain biking and if you like to be on the water, there is plenty to be found here. There are numerous beaches in and around Copper Harbor that are ideal for rockhounding.

Enjoy superb birding all seasons and the spectacular migration activity in spring. Play a round of golf or frisbee golf or sink 18 holes at the local mini-golf course.

A visit to a local cemetery or ghost town is like a walk into the past. There are several cemeteries in the area, some with headstones from the early 1800s. Mandan and Delaware are close and full of interest.

History reveals itself in several sites as part of the Keweenaw County Historical Society. The Bammert Blacksmith Shop, Central Mine, Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, Eagle River Museum & Phoenix Church and Museum are a few of the exhibits open to the public for enjoyment. Website

In the winter the area is a wonderland, blanketed in an average snowfall of 270" of fluffy, lake effect snow. Enjoy the great outdoors. Get out there and play in the snow!
