March 31, 2008

This is the final trail report for the winter of 2007-2008 in Michigan ’s beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula .  Although snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor will remain open through April 6, grooming has ended for the season.

As of March 31, snowmobile trails conditions ranged from poor condition with bare and wet areas to very good condition in the woods.

Houghton County has received 256 inches of snow for the season and has 30 inches on the ground. Keweenaw County has received 258.2 inches and has 30 inches on the ground.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau thanks everyone who helped with our winter recreation program.  The work on the trail system will continue over the summer and fall, as we look forward to opening the trails again on December 1st.
